15-year-old twins Jared and Simon, their sister Mallory and mother Helen Grace move from Brooklyn to their great-great-uncle's huge old house in Michigan. While exploring a new place, Jared discovers a magical creature, but when he tells his family about it, they don't believe him. The only person who listens to Jared is his great-aunt.
